Black Harm Reduction Network at the National Harm Reduction Conference

The Network hosted the Black Harm Reduction Network Institute during the National Harm Reduction Conference in Puerto Rico where we brought together over 100 harm reductionists and criminal legal system reform advocates.

There, the network:

  • Reflected on the history of harm reduction activities and strategies in the Black community, and explored how to uplift that history in our current work.

  •  Discussed the need for a coordinated, Black-led voice to speak to and advocate for harm reduction principles.

  • Analyzed the importance of addressing criminal legal system reforms and health care access as part of a Black Harm Reduction agenda.
